Webinar: Smart Product Development Risk Assessment

Exploiting Superior Capabilities in Measuring, Mitigating and Managing NPD Risk

Tuesday, November 25, 2014   @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (ET, USA) Assessing and measuring the true risk in developing new products is perhaps the most challenging task for new product development teams. Yet it is central to smart management of NPD projects and collaboration across functions. This live webinar will address an easy-to-deploy approach to overcome this challenge by leveraging an algorithmic model of NPD success and failures.

Based on statistically validated key factors, the algorithmic model analyzes the risk of a new product development project much in the same way a bank assesses a person’s ability to pay back a mortgage. The bank collects information on such factors as age, credit rating, education, annual income and job history… then inputs these values into an algorithm that, based on a statistically large sample of previous home buyers, determines the likelihood that the mortgage will be paid. The NPD risk assessment model works much the same: analyzes input on certain factors to then reveal probabilities of success or failure. But more importantly, the model also pinpoints the source and magnitude of different risk influences on development projects.

Led by Jeff Groh, a top risk assessment consultant from the Adept Group, this Webinar will address different methods of using the model for: •project team building;
• project planning;
• project screening; and
• analyzing systemic risk across a portfolio of new product development projects.
